Our Story

Yate Rugby Club is more than a Traditional Rugby club. It is a family of passionate and dedicated people who share a common love for the sport and the community.

Founded in 2016, we have been striving to achieve excellence in every aspect of our game, from our skills and tactics to our attitude and values. Our 3 core values of Yate Rugby are Pride, Positivity and Progression. We take pride in our club and our achievements, we maintain a positive outlook and a supportive environment, and we seek to progress as individuals and as a team.

We are not only players, parents, competitiors, but also friends, mentors, learners and leaders. We welcome anyone who wants to join us, whether as a player or a supporter, and we promise to make you feel at home.

We have continued to grow despite a global pandemic and declining participation nationally, and in 2023, we now have 2 senior mens teams, with our 1st Team competing in Counties 4 Tribute Gloucestershire South, following back to back promotions.

We continue to provide a growing Minis and Youth rugby, for all children aged 2 through to 14, completely FREE!

Our senior Ladies team continues to develop and are now competing in league rugby.

Finally our Tag group, which continues each Monday and provides an opportunity for all abilities to experience the joy of rugby.

Very recently Yate Rugby has partnered with the Bristol Bears Community Rugby Foundation and become a Connexions Club!
